How It All Started...
Pastor Chris Toole grew up in a pastor's home and grew up attending church. But after 22 years in ministry he was still not fully satisfied with the local church's ability to attract truly unchurched people. Finally in August 2004, Chris and his wife Marie, committed themselves to beginning a brand new church designed from the outset to be inviting to the unchurched people.
Expanding The Vision...
In August 2004, a core group of 18 had been established. On September 12, 2004, SouthPoint launched its first service in the Eufaula Chamber of Commerce building. For the next year and a half, SPC held services at the City Auditorium. Then, in December 2005, SPC held its first service in a newly constructed facility located on a 21-acre campus. In just a short period of time, God had provided everything the church needed. God has continued to provide for SPC every step of the way.
Where We Are Headed...
While we are incredibly thankful about what God has done for us already, the most amazing part is that we know greater things are yet to come as we seek God's face and He uses SouthPoint to continue to create a loving, inviting environment for unchurched people in our community.
